Welcome to the CQ Roll Call Advocacy & Engagement Solutions blog

Welcome to the new Congress.org. As the inventor of online advocacy, CQ Roll Call’s Advocacy and Engagement division has always viewed Congress.org as a vehicle for those in the advocacy space to share, learn, participate in conversation and effectively advocate their issue. However, it’s no secret that in today’s evolving digital world, in order to successfully advocate, organizations have to work twice as hard to differentiate their brand and position themselves as the authoritative voice on an issue. Often, organizations are challenged with how behavior around advocacy has changed.

Advocacy is no longer linear – it’s not just sending a letter or signing a petition, or liking a Facebook page. Today, advocacy is about organizing the fragmented conversations happening around an issue and transforming that conversation into engagement and action. Today, a successful advocacy campaign can only be achieved if your brand is positioned as a thought leader – becoming synonymous with your issue.

The updated Congress.org will introduce a new type of blog, Engaged!, discussing advocacy best practices that will lead to more effective engagement through thought leadership. Discussions will focus on how to effectively execute a campaign, drive engagement, and insight on tools to reach Congress and your audience with your message. The new Congress.org will take a look at how organizations are creating a groundswell around their issues and facilitating and organizing the conversation online. The Engaged! blog will help you move your advocacy campaign beyond letter writing and Facebook likes to real action. Congress.org will continue to offer authoritative news and insight from the CQ Roll Call newsroom, empowering you with the information you need to advocate your issue.

Additionally, the CQ Roll Call Advocacy and Engagement team will be sharing their thoughts and ideas on new trends and the convergence of advertising and engagement strategies. In our blog, you’ll also find:

  • Announcements of new products and enhancements
  • Success stories and case studies
  • Updates on sponsored research and reports in advocacy
  • Analysis of current advocacy & engagement practices

Thank you for visiting, and we hope you will come back, and come back often.
